Belton, Leicestershire, is a small village in the Charnwood area. It lies very close to the town of Shepshed, itself a relation to the larger Loughborough nearby. The village has a primary school, but children travel by bus to Shepshed High School once they pass into secondary school.

Belton itself is home to one of the few remaining free-standing maypoles in the country. This is a fact of which the local residents are very proud.
