Belthangadi is headquarters of Belthangadi taluk of Dakshina Kannada (South Canara) district of Karnataka state in India. Belthangadi taluk is mostly covered by forests. Western ghats provide scenic beauty worth seeing, especially during the monsoon season that usually last from the month of June to September. Dharmasthala in Belthangadi taluk is piligrim centre for Hindus.
