Belmont Hill School

Belmont Hill School is an all-boys preparatory school located on a 23 acre campus in Belmont, a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts. It enrolls approximately 420 students in grades 7-12. The school refers to these grades as "Forms" with a Roman Numeral I through VI. The school has both day and 5-day boarding programs. It was founded in 1923. [1]

Belmont Hill follows a traditional curriculum, requiring that students entering in the first form take two years of Latin.[2]

In the years 2001-2005, the college matriculation (http://www.belmont-hill.org/home/content.asp?id=278): Boston College (30), Harvard College (25), Georgetown University (19), Trinity College (15), Tufts University (14), Middlebury College (13), Vanderbilt University (11), Dartmouth College (9), University of Pennsylvania (9), Bowdoin College (8), Brown University (8), Emory University (7), College of the Holy Cross (7), and Colby College (6).[3]

Belmont Hill competes athletically in the Independent School League.[4] It is also known for its practice of distributing milk and cookies to its students each day.

The 2006-2007 tuition is $27,990 for day students and $33,590 for five-day boarding students.[5]
