Bellerive Beach

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bellerive Beach is a popular beach in the suburb of Bellerive in the City of Clarence, Tasmania, Australia. It is situated, roughly three kilometres from the centre of the city at Rosny Park. Along with nearby Howrah Beach, which it is only separated from by a small bluff, it serves the local community as a recreational venue. Many people have their homes along the beach, and enjoy the incredible views of the Derwent River and Mount Wellington. Bellerive Beach is most famous for being situated alongside Hobart's Test Cricket venue, Bellerive Oval and is often shown on television coverage of matches from the ground. At one end of the beach is a bluff separating it from Howrah Beach, at the other cliffs rising up to Kangaroo Bluff, the site of a 19th century British Fortress.
