Belle K. Abbott

Mrs Belle Kendrick Abbott (1842-1893)[1] was an American author who wrote Leah Mordecai,[2] which was first published in 1856. It is a coming of age story, set in the 1850s. Leah Mordecai was her only published novel.

She was from Atlanta and with her first husband, Benjamin F. Abbott, lived there for many years on Peachtree Street between Cain (now International) and Harris.[3]
