Born in Mardin,Turkey 1956. Belkis Akkale is a well distinguished singer of Türkü music. An Alevi with a Kurdish heritage, she doesn't express any political views through her music like some other Turkish musicians such as Grup Yourm. She tends to produce with other singers who are generally from Southeastern Anatolia.
