Becki Pipette

Becki Pipette (also known as RiotBecki; born Rebecca Stephens on July 30, 1982) is a singer with the band The Pipettes.
Brighton-born Becki, who normally stands stage left, is the Pipette with darker blonde hair, glasses and nose ring (she is often described as looking like a librarian). A former dancer and amateur stage actress who has a degree in media studies from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College (she has said her course dissertation was on 1970s porn films[citation needed]), she had never been in a band before being approached to join the Pipettes.
She is most notable for singing the verses of the single "Your Kisses Are Wasted on Me" and lead on album tracks "Tell Me What You Want" and "One Night Stand". In April 2005, she joined former member Julia in contributing vocals to the hip-hop album Flowers & Trees by fellow Brightonian Y.Misdaq aka Yoshi, and has also provided vocals for The Blind Cowboys, a one-off project by bandmate Jon Cassette and Tom White of the Electric Soft Parade.
Her nickname comes from her love of the Riot Grrrl scene, having named Sleater-Kinney and Kathleen Hanna as influences as well as Guided by Voices.
