As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 931 people, 348 households, and 261 families residing in the borough. The population density was 678.2/km² (1,741.6/mi²). There were 366 housing units at an average density of 266.6/km² (684.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough was 99.25% White, 0.11% African American, 0.11% Asian, 0.32% from other races, and 0.21% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.64% of the population.
There were 348 households out of which 36.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.4% were married couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% were non-families. 19.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.68 and the average family size was 3.08.
In the borough the population was spread out with 26.9% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 33.3% from 25 to 44, 18.5% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 102.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.8 males.
The median income for a household in the borough was $48,846, and the median income for a family was $52,045. Males had a median income of $36,938 versus $23,828 for females.
