[edit] Pronounciation
To settle a ongoing debate, is it pronounced 'Beer-stid' or 'Bear-sted?'
Although the latter pronounciation would tally with the current spelling, it could be that the former dates from a previous one, and given that I've heard many advocates for both sides, it seems odd that it would appear from nowhere. --iamajpeg 21:48, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
