Beautiful Oceans is a company dedicated to raising awareness of the coral reef ecosystem through education and conservation initiatives.
Beautiful Oceans provides crash courses in coral reef biology, which take place online, in-class and in-water, providing a complete educational experience for people interested in marine biology. Courses are suitable for entire families, but are particularly tailored toward scuba divers and snorkelers who wish to apply the knowledge they learn. Beautiful Oceans' courses represent an entirely new certification system for divers that focuses on "diving to learn" rather than "learning to dive".
Beautiful Oceans also provides Science Instructor development Courses (SIDC) for dive professionals (instructors and divemasters) interested in becoming certified to teach coral reef biology to their clients. SIDCs also occur online, in-class and in-water.

Beautiful Oceans was founded in 2005 by Stephan Becker (President and CEO) and Ian Popple (Vice-President Science & Education). The head office is located in Montreal, Canada, but Beautiful Oceans Science Instructors and Science Dive and Snorkel Centers are located in both the Caribbean and North America.
Beautiful Oceans donates 10% of its annual pretax profits, or 1% of annual sales, which ever is the greater, to fund environmental initiatives designed to protect coral reefs — the very ecosystem covered by its educational courses. Beautiful Oceans is a member of 1% For The Planet - an organization of businesses committed to leveraging their resources to create a healthier planet.
