The Bear Cult is an Alorn order of religious fanatics dedicated to Belar. They are known for their zealousness and misogyny. Their goal is to ultimately reunite and control the Alorn kingdoms.

Throughout the Belgariad, Mallorean, and their two companions novels, the Bear Cult is depicted as being something of an adversary. The severity of this varies between the Cult being an annoyance to it being a legitimate threat. The Cult has exercised power throughout the Alorn kingdoms to varying degrees throughout its history, waxing and waning depending on the rulers. It was finally put down when, under the mistaken impression that they were responsible for his son's kidnapping, Garion and the other Alorn kings defeated them at their stronghold in Drasnia.
