Beach House is a Baltimore, MD two-piece dream pop, indie-rock band formed in 2005. Their dreamy sound is similar to Mazzy Star and Nico. In 2006 they were named the 16th best album of 2006 by Pitchfork Media. [1]

The band formed in 2005. Their song Apple Orchard was featured on a Pitchfork Media mp3 mixtape in August, 2006. In October 2006 their self-titled debut album was release on Carpark Records.
