[edit] == Mad Linking ==
Hi. Please stop mad linking. See Wikipedia:Make only links relevant to the context. Thanks! -- Perfecto 00:26, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

I noticed you are categorized as a Wikipedian by alignment. If you are in to userboxes, there are now infoboxes available using a standard template. See the alignment category page for details. This is a copied announcement, please reply on My Talk Page or in the category talk if you have any questions. xaosflux Talk/CVU 18:51, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Cougar Mountain
Thanks for your warm comments regarding my work on the Cougar Mountain page. I see that you are more a fan of Tiger Mountain but you tour it by air (I guess you have keys for the gate on the West Side Road). I've hiked up to Poo Poo Point a couple times from the trailhead on I-90, but now they say there's a very steep direct route to Poo Poo Point from the area near the hang-glider landing strip on Issaquah-Hobart Rd. If you have any information about the entrance of this trail from the bottom and you have time, perhaps you could add it to the Tiger Mountain page since I do not foresee hiking all the way up to Poo Poo Point and then all the way down to see exactly where it comes outEndomion 13:13, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Template:PA-KingCountyGOV
I don't think the license in Template:PA-KingCountyGOV is acceptable by wikipedia, it is not compatible with the GFDL. I've started a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags#PA-KingCountyGOV, to hash out any issues. After that, I intend to list this template on WP:TFD. Thanks. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 22:16, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Snoqualmie-falls.jpg
Just wanted to drop you a note that this image is up for speedy deletion because you listed non-commercial as a requirement for useage on the image. As of May 19th 2005 per Jimbo these images are not permitted on Wiki and are to be deleted on spot --Admrboltz (T | C) 20:00, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Be aware, also Image:Over-Issaquah.jpg and Image:Snoqualmie Pass.jpg are also tagged this way. --Admrboltz (T | C) 20:13, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Cougar_Mountain_Map.JPG
Hi. The above image seems to be licensed for non-commercial use only. I am afraid that such usage is incompatible with Wikipedia, and the image will have to be deleted. Thanks for understanding. Jkelly 00:36, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] cat trouble on Barney & Friends
Could you describe the trouble you were having as mentioned in your edit logs? Stephen Compall 21:26, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Upon further analysis, it seems you could be entering wikilinks in a nonstandard way. You should enter spaces as-is, e.g. [[Barney & Friends]], and the spaces will be converted to underscores. See Help:Link#Wikilinks. Stephen Compall 21:34, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] employes
What's the difference between 'employes' and 'employees'? kmccoy (talk) 08:32, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm curious as well, and strangely enough I can't find the answer anywhere. If you would be so kind as to reply, please do so on the IATSE talk page. Threephi 04:58, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hikipedia
Hello Bdelisle,
I've noticed that you have submitted a few nice contributions to the article about Tiger Mountain.
I am currently gathering feedback about the Hikipedia project. Could you please give me some feedback about the Hikipedia site? Would you consider contributing to Hikipedia?
I know that one can add trail descriptions to a regular Wikipedia, but there are quite a few things that would be too difficult too acomplish: trail-oriented search, embedded weather forecast, voting for trail difficulty and enjoyability, trail reports, links and images of guidebooks.
Please let me know what you think about Hikipedia (you can use the feedback page, or reply here).
Thank you for your time,
Lukasz Anforowicz
[edit] Wrong plant determination
Hello Bdelisle,
it was me who deleted your photo from the article Purple loosestrife. The plants were surely no purple loosestrife but a species belonging to the genus Epilobium, might be Epilobium angustifolium.

[edit] Word delinking
If you can give me some examples of where you think delinking was inappropriate. I'd be glad to look at them. However, in general, articles should be linked according to the likely needs of their readership. If someone wants to read an article about, say, a TV programme that's broadcast on Saturdays, they're not likely to need a link to explain Saturday. And in general, we have to assume a certain basic knowledge on the part of readers, otherwise we'd be linking every single word. I think, except in articles that specifically explain basic concepts, it's reasonable to assume we don't need links to basic words like e.g. son, wife, table, water, face, eyes, names of continents, names of days of the week, names of months of the year, etc. Colonies Chris 09:32, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree that it is as clearly reasonable as you say. The first few were okay, son, wife, etc. But when it comes to names of continents and days of the week in some contexts, is it that repugnant to have links to them, I see a reader as actually being interested in links like that. Using a list of links you see as unvaluable and removing all links to them without checking the contexts (multiple edits per second doesn't seem to be backed by an intelligent process) does not seem to be the best use of your time, or the servers resources (ie, multiple edits per second by your AWB client). Ansell 10:40, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for relinking on Holy Wednesday. It's one thing not to link to it in an article that's not about calendar events, but I think it's practically necessary to have a link to Wednesday in an article that is about a Wednesday. Sigh... perhaps we ought to require bot applications for AWB. —ptk✰fgs 15:47, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Cougar_Mountain_Park_Map.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Cougar_Mountain_Park_Map.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Flavor Flav(tv).jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Flavor Flav(tv).jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 15:23, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Flavor Flav(tv).jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Flavor Flav(tv).jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Yamla 15:23, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
