[edit] Welcome!

[edit] Manfred von Richthofen

  • thanks for checking my link (I am surprised it doesn't work. I couldn't test it myself, because I get "connection was refused. [blabla] proxy server [...]"). The link you provided is much better. Ben talk contr 02:51, Apr 18, 2005 (UTC)

No problem, my only concern is that I am not sure the software even works. I tried it with Windows 2000 and with dosemu/freedos and wine in linux and I couldn't get it to run. We may just want to take it out unless someone else has better luck with the software. BDerrly 22:10, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Works for me. I just tried it with Windows XP and it was ok. I didn't stand a chance against the Red Baron and got shot. The software is very old, maybe you have some kind of incompatibility, long filenames, etc., it's fragile. Ben talk contr 03:31, Apr 19, 2005 (UTC)
  • BTW, are you really a newbie (two weeks here)!? You don't seem to, and you already created a new article, about Flight Service Stations. Well, anyway, be welcome to the wikipedia!

I copy some links that I got when I got welcomed. You probably don't need all of them, but it's good to have them just in case...

Happy editing, Ben talk contr 03:48, Apr 19, 2005 (UTC)

  • Well, I've been using Wikipedia for a couple of years now but just recently took the time to create an account. I've done a couple of minor edits for spelling, etc, but I wanted to create a couple of pages and I thought a user name would make it easier to keep track of that stuff. So here I am! Thanks for the welcome and I'm glad to hear the software works for you. I'll have to give it a try again. bDerrly talk contr 20:36, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I thought you were not new. Good luck with the Baron and hey, you might want to get the old edits recognized as yours. Ben talk contr 07:22, Apr 20, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] AOPA

Actually I don't know how best to attribute the text, maybe using a few inline citations like: "AOPA was founded ... [1]". I asked for input on Wikipedia:Copyright problems, but there appears to be no consensus on how to handle copyright issues. There are a couple of template form letters for asking for permission to republish someone's text under GFDL. Anyway, maybe it's OK to just leave it as is until someone takes up the issue. —Fleminra 21:28, May 6, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Culture of Russia

Thanks for all of your suggestions and editing it is very helpful. Thanks. Falphin 29 June 2005 01:57 (UTC)

Not a problem, glad to help! A good article with a lot of interesting information it just needs some clarification in some spots. It is confusing to someone, like me, who doesn't know much about Russian culture. bDerrly talk contr 29 June 2005 13:40 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Commander112-panel.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Commander112-panel.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stan 14:24, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
