[edit] Linkspam
I do not have the time or inclination to go around cleaning up spam everywhere. When I notice blatant spam, I go and clean up as I see necessary, or pass on to higher authorities that can do mass-reverts. The fact a link is left does not necessarily equal approval of that link.--Drat (Talk) 16:51, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Comments on my Talk Page
It is nice to meet someone who shares my views on wikipedia. I know just what you mean about the dilemma of whether to contribute or not. When I first came to the project, I was active in a variety of areas but have largely pulled back in more recent times due to the constant frustration of seeing good work undone. I still believe that Wikipedia is a good idea in principle, just not in practice. Now I try to take a sort of live and let live approach and do what I can to make things better while ignoring that which cannot be changed. Indrian 04:22, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Computer and video games Vote
What exactly is meant by, "Descrete pages covering each platform at length" in option 4. Are you talking about hardware or software. It is ambigous. I see what you meen by having the genres seperate. Those pages probably already exist but noting which platforms they are associated with may not be included, this is a good idea, a peer review to inspect the genre pages is probably needed to verify or add the systems they are written for.M jurrens 20:33, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Video game edit
Sorry I didn't know there was a full re-write in progress, and I saw you had copied and pasted a blurb twice halfway down the article, so I removed it.
Suggest using {{inuse}} for such a huge edit. Cheerios. Kelvinc 07:11, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Computer and video games
If you want to change the name of the category, go through WP:CFD, not do it yourself. This is a large change to make and the category name was chosen after much deliberation and consensus building and has been in place for well over a year now. I have reverted the changes you made. Caerwine Caer’s whines 23:21, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- The lack of any discussion of it on CFD or on the category talk page led me to initially suspect vandalism (since the initial redirect was done by an anon IP) with other users following up one what seemed like a plausible change. While I do now see that this was touched upon by WP:CVG, the changes still should go through CFD, as the categories aren't WP:OWNed by the CVG WP. Caerwine Caer’s whines 00:56, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- I hate to say it, but I agree with Prove It that it doesn't qualify for a speedy CFD. And you'll want an umbrella nomination so as to catch the subcategories as well. If you need help, I'm willing to provide some under the circumstances. Caerwine Caer’s whines 02:26, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hi BcRIPster, please let me know when the CfD has finished and if it passes I will help with the renaming, cheers. Marasmusine 22:00, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Computer game disambig
Thanks for creating the disambiguation page Computer game. You might note that there are some pages that contain links to Computer game, which now will need to be corrected to point to whichever of the more specific articles is appropriate. I hope you will assist in fixing these links -- don't worry, there are only about 4,000 of them! --Russ (talk) 14:49, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Closing the Catagory:CVG->VG debate.
Closing is only done by admins for important changes like that.--SeizureDog 15:51, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Originally suggested final naming from CVG->VG transition
Apparently no body bothered to research this this before the ran their bot to do the conversion :(
It was specifically stated in the CfD: "Additional note some of these renames may require title rewording and may trigger subsequint mergers (eg. "1952 computer and video games" ->rename-> "1952 in video games" <-then merge contents from<- "1952 in video gaming". New page will also need some final rewrite."
