[edit] Usage
The {{BCproject}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. All pages should include class and importance when possible. These parameters will put the page into the appropriate subcategory in WikiProject British Columbia. The main syntax is as follows:

- class – a rating of the article's quality; see Wikipedia:WikiProject British Columbia/Assessment for more details. Valid values are:
- FA - The article has passed through the featured article review process.
- A - Could be submitted as a Featured article candidate; probably could use some small updates to make it Featured quality.
- GA - The article has passed through the good article review process.
- B - Could be submitted as a Good article nominee; probably could use some updates or may lack some features from the Good article criteria, but it presents a good overview of the subject.
- Start - The article is more than a stub, but may lack some important aspects of the topic's discussion.
- Stub - The article is a stub; it likely contains one of the stub templates.
- NA - The page is not an article and should not be rated; it could be an image or category, for example.
- importance - a rating of the article's importance; see Wikipedia:WikiProject British Columbia/Assessment for more details. Valid values are:
- Top - Reserved for the primary articles. These are considered fundamental to the topic and are mostly overview articles with many links, like British Columbia or Geography of British Columbia.
- High - Major topic about British Columbia, such as Victoria, British Columbia.
- Mid - General topic. Most articles about British Columbia topics go here, such as Nanaimo bar, Stanley Park, or Commodore Ballroom.
- Low - Minor topic, such as a person or thing who is only notable in one small region or for a short amount of time. Includes most backbench MLAs.
- No - Used only for disputed articles. Provide discussion related to the rating, as this rating is likely to be removed or replaced on sight.
