[edit] Welcome

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. ...yada yada... Again, welcome! - UtherSRG 18:11, 19 Jan 2004 (UTC)

[edit] about Nousukausi

Hi Bbx. Have you watched that movie? I'm going to watch it soon in an upcoming European Union film festival here in 3 weeks time. The plot does sound interesting to me. --*drew 00:48, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Hi, yes I saw it a couple of months ago. It's pretty good, i voted 7/10 for it on IMDb. I don't know if you have seen many Finnish movies, but Nousukausi is very typical Finnish style. bbx 04:57, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I see. Nousukausi will be the 1st time I watch Finnish movie. Its non-typical plot induces me to watch it. Here, it will be shown just once among other European movies in conjunction with the film festival. --*drew 07:37, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • I think you will enjoy it, I can recommend you a personal Finnish favourite, Cyclomania. Watch it if you ever get a chance :) bbx 09:38, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC)

aye aye :) --*drew 09:44, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

I'm legally required to ask permission before I would try to use your contributions under a different license. I apologize for having to use a WikiSpam-like message to do so, but it is just not practical to write thousands of people individual for something of this magnitude. I would hope you would consider my proposal regardless of whether or not I employeed a bot to ask you. If not, I will add your name to the list of people who have opted out. Thanks for your time. Ram-Man (comment) (talk)[[]] 23:54, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)
Okay, well I don't have the time or the will to read about it now. I'll release my stuff under CCL any time if you just make it easy for me. Otherwise I'll just press "Save page" as usual because I'm so lazy =P bbx 00:12, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] 13 Going On 30

The proper capitalization is 13 Going on 30. I've moved it back. RickK 01:12, Jan 17, 2005 (UTC)

  • Not according to Sony Pictures and IMDb. They spell it as "13 Going On 30". bbx 01:21, 17 Jan 2005 (UTC)
    • How strange. Well, I'll change it back, then. RickK 01:30, Jan 17, 2005 (UTC)
      • Yep, it's pretty strange. But thanks for changing back. bbx 01:32, 17 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] LBM

Thanks for the quick edit on that blasphemy which was inserted into Lake Bodom murders. My eyebrows started twitching when I read the edit's summary. :P Cheers. --Sn0wflake 19:31, 23 Jan 2005 (UTC)

  • No problem mate =) Cheers. bbx 19:59, 23 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikistandard

Don't remove wikification. "External links" is the standard, and there is even an on-going project to change all singular instaces to the plural. --Sn0wflake 20:08, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • And you shouldn't remove valid dismabiguations. bbx 22:51, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
I believe the standard procedure would be starting an edit war, but you might be right. I just think it's an unlikely mistake. Too much trouble for one line of text. :) --Sn0wflake 00:50, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Not that unlikely, it seems. While doing reserach I bumped into more sites about the disease that about the band, even though it's a misspell. Good call on adding the disambig note. Anyway, I am going to start editing Klam soon, so if you feel like pitching in, do so. Cheers. --Sn0wflake 20:19, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Good thing thats solved. It's a misspell in English but proper spelling in a few other languages, Finnish being one of them. I'll keep an eye on your edits to the article and add/correct anything if i can. bbx 20:30, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] More schools on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion

As of March 25, 2005, there are an additional (6) articles listed for deletion under the POV notion that schools are non-notable (even though this is invalid reasoning as per the Wikipedia deletion policy). Please be aware that the following schools are actively being discussed and voted upon:

In response to this cyclical ordeal, a Schoolwatch programme has been initiated in order to indentify school-related articles which may need improvement and to help foster and encourage continued organic growth. Your comments are welcome and I thank you again for your time. --GRider\talk

[edit] Bewitched

I saw the disambiguation page you created on Bewitched (disambiguation). I'm confused about the Frank Sinatra song you name. Do you mean Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered? or maybe "Witchcraft"? Thanks. SDC 23:06, 22 August 2005 (UTC)

I meant Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered. My source was bad and I guess it shouldn't be on the disambig. I'll remove it. Thanks for noticing it. bbx 09:30, 23 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Babben Larsson

Hi - I think I ought to explain my edits on this page I made; just out of politeness, and since I realise that in Swedish, it would be correct :) The date is incorrect without the 'th' in 29th, and even if it's an island, you're always born 'in' a country. 9cds 03:11, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

Hi, you're right about the "in" part thanks for correcting me. The date is right too but according to the Manual of Style, October 29 is to be used. bbx 03:27, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
Oops - thanks! 9cds 03:35, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Help with Translation!?

Can you help translate this for me to swedish? Many thanks in advance!

For a small country, Albania is endowed with considerable resources. The southwestern part of the country is rich in petroleum and natural gas. The northeastern region has substantial reserves of metallic mineral deposits, including chromium, copper, and iron-nickel. Large deposits of lignite (soft coal) are found near Tiranë, and natural asphalt is mined near Selenicë.

Albania is also rich in rivers and streams with significant hydroelectric potential. These have been exploited quite effectively, making the country an energy exporter. A number of huge hydroelectric power plants have been built, mainly on the Drin River, and more than half of the country's arable land is irrigated, largely from the artificial reservoirs created upstream of the dams.

--Armour 14:06, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Antoine de Saint-Exupery.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use GFDL to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.

[edit] Sighsten Herrgård

I notice you wrote the article on Sighsten Herrgård. He seems to have been quite a significant figure, and I think he should be included in the List of HIV-positive people. However, I can't find a reference in English that verifies his HIV-positive status. Do you know of any reference (in any language)? Thanks. Trezatium 11:13, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I added a link to an article in Aftonbladet I used as my main source when writing the article. I hope it is enough to qualify for the list. bbx 18:55, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Nykarleby.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Nykarleby.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Visa roster commodore 64 vocally cover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Visa roster commodore 64 vocally cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Nectarine (radio)

A tag has been placed on Nectarine (radio), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on Talk:Nectarine (radio). Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. RJASE1 Talk 01:17, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] March 2007

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with Nectarine (radio). If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please place hangon on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. RJASE1 Talk 03:28, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Please dont speedy perfectly good articles. Thank you. bbx 03:29, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Nothing personal, but it doesn't claim notability per WP:WEB. If it meets the notability criteria, I'm all in favor of keeping it. RJASE1 Talk 03:34, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Nectarine (radio)

I've nominated Nectarine (radio), an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Nectarine (radio) satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nectarine (radio) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Nectarine (radio) during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. RJASE1 Talk 03:45, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
