Bayside's second album from Victory Records is a little different from the 2004 Victory debut, Sirens and Condolences, with a much brighter outlook on life in their lyrics. Having replaced half the band (Bassist Nick Ghanbarian and drummer John "Beatz" Holohan were new to Bayside), this change is due mostly to different band members and a new mindset about life. Bayside looks at ways to recover, as told in the song "We'll Be O.K.." The album showcases, like the previous one, the quiet desperation in singer Anthony Raneri's vocals, like in the raw, pain-driven acoustic piece, "Don't Call Me Peanut," as well as the masterful songwriting and guitaring of Jack O' Shea's "nod to classic rock" style.
