Bayat

Bayat was the name of one the 24 Oghuz Turkish clans purported to descend from Oghuz Khaqan according to Oghuzname[citation needed] and the oral legends prior to that book's writing in early 14th century. It is also the name of several localities and persons often in connection with the clan or the legend. It is a common surname as well as a still existing clan in Afghanistan and, to some extent, Turkey, and in Afghanistan, the clan is known to have who originally emigrated into the country with Nader Shah. Some notable figures from this clan include Mahmood Khan Bayat, Ehsan Bayat, Dr. Akbar Bayat, Ali Bayat. It is also a common surname in Iran.

Bayat is the surname of a tribe in Iran which started in century 12. The first location of Bayat tribe was seen in Nishapoor the one of city in south of Khorassan, state in north-east of Iran.
The name of Bayat commes from Arabic language and also from Goran. The meaning of Bayat is power of god. In the Farsi language, it means as old.
And also Bayat ("taking hand") is sanctioned by "Verily, those who give the their allegiance, they give it but to Allah Himself" Quran 48:10. It is the initiation ceremony specific to many Sufi Orders.
Bayat tribe moved in 16th century by Mongol forces to 3 different location. Because Bayat tribe made a war with the Mongols and they kiled Changiz khan's son in low with his armi and then Changiz khan attacked with all his forces to Nishapoor and he kiled all Bayat tribe mans and the rest of Bayat tribe escaped to the mountains around the Nishapoor and they stayed there for 5 years.
And then they started to move. First group went to east and north east. So you can find Bayat surname in Afganestan and India.
Second group went to south west and they stoped at Isfahan. You can see the bayat surname in Arak, Isfahan and Shiraz.
Third group went to north west and in Azarbayjan the divided by two, one part of the group took the north way until Turkey and second part took the west until Iraq and Syria and also we can find some branch of Bayat tribe in Libannon.
Before Changiz Khan attacked the Bayat tribe, the historian says the population of Bayat tribe was arond 1.5 million and about 200.000 man ready to war.
