[edit] CICS etc. as jobs

I've just removed the following paragraph from the article

Batch jobs are not thought of as interactive, but transaction processing
systems such as IBM's CICS may run from a technical perspective as
batch jobs, although this is typically obscured from terminal
users.

because while it is technically correct (in MVS et seq., everything is a job, even CICS itself or a TSO user), it clouds the discussion of batch processung unnecessarily. Besides, such systems are usually 1-step jobs anyway, and are only "jobs" in the most arcane sense. RossPatterson 00:03, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

  • It would be helpful to computer scientists to contrast batch processing with interactivity. I'm currently studying this, so I am not the right person for the job, but wanted to make the suggestion in case an enterprising individual wants to add. 69.107.89.125 07:55, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
