Battle of Sarimbun Beach

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Battle of Sarimbun Beach or the Sarimbun Beach Battle was an assault of the Japanese army against Allied forces in Singapore in February 1942. This beach at Sarimbun was the first site where Japanese troops entered into Singapore during World War II. General Yamashita led this surprise attack as the British army was expecting the Japanese troops to attack Singapore from the south.
