Battle of Juncal

The naval Battle of Juncal took place on 9 February 1827 between the newly independent fleets of Argentina, under William Brown, and Brazil, under Pereira. It was a decisive Argentinian victory, 12 Brazilian vessels being captured, including their flagship with the admiral on board and 3 burnt out of 17.
