Battle of Johnstown
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Battle of Johnstown was fought in Johnstown, New York. It was one of the last battles of the American Revolution. Not knowing of Cornwallis' defeat and surrender at Battle of Yorktown in Virginia, approximately 1400 fought at Johnstown on October 25, 1781. Local Continental forces, led by Col. Marinus Willett of Johnstown, ultimately put the British forces to flight.
