Hira city was the capital of the Persian province of Iraq. It was conquered in May 633 AD. Muslim Arabs attacked the city and defeated the Arab army present there. In the aftermath, five castles in the city fell to the Muslims. and the city agreed to surrender on terms of paying tribute.
