The Battle of Ebersberg, fought on May 3, 1809, was a part of the War of the Fifth Coalition, which was a part of the Napoleonic Wars.
An Austrian rearguard under the command of General Hiller took up positions near the Traun in the hopes of slowing the French advance towards Vienna. The French under Marshal Massena attacked, crossing a heavily defended bridge and forcing Hiller to withdraw.
