Batter bits

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Batter bits are a delicacy in the UK. Available in UK chip shops only[citation needed], batter bits are the solidified and fried batter which does not stick to battered foodstuffs. These small pieces of batter, known in some parts of the UK as scraps, are considered waste because of their lack of nutritional value and high fat content.[citation needed] Due to being considered a waste product, they are illegal to sell[citation needed], but may be given away on request.
