Basye-Bryce Mountain is a census-designated place (CDP) in Shenandoah County, Virginia, United States. The population was 986 at the 2000 census.

Basye-Bryce Mountain is located at 38°49′7″N, 78°45′47″W (38.818702, -78.763146)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 23.4 km² (9.0 mi²). 23.1 km² (8.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (1.22%) is water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 986 people, 445 households, and 308 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 42.7/km² (110.6/mi²). There were 1,151 housing units at an average density of 49.9/km² (129.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.15% White, 1.62% African American, 0.41% Native American, 0.81% Asian, 0.20% from other races, and 0.81% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.81% of the population.

There were 445 households out of which 17.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.1% were married couples living together, 3.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.6% were non-families. 25.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.22 and the average family size was 2.59.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 16.8% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 19.0% from 25 to 44, 36.3% from 45 to 64, and 23.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 51 years. For every 100 females there were 103.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $49,600, and the median income for a family was $49,632. Males had a median income of $25,625 versus $25,156 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $24,543. About 5.7% of families and 8.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 14.0% of those under age 18 and none of those over 64.
