Basundi

Basundi is an Indian dessert. It is dense sweetened milk made by boiling milk on low heat for a long time. Milk is usually reduced to half and it takes 1 to 2 hours of boiling.

Additionally heavy cream might be added during boiling to make it thicker. Once its reduced, little sugar, cardamom, saffron are added. Basundi is served chilled, often garnished with slices of almonds and pistachios.
