Baso Liben

Baso Liben is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. A triangular-shaped district in the Misraq Gojjam Zone, Baso Liben is bordered on the south by the Abay River which separates it from the Oromia Region, on the northwest by Guzamn, and on the northeast by Awabel. The major town in Baso Liben is Yejube.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 153,247, of whom 77,463 were males and 75,784 were females; 6,502 or 4.24% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 10.7%. With an estimated area of 1,339.99 square kilometers, Baso Liben has an estimated population density of 114.4 people per square kilometer, which is less than the Zone average of 166.35.[1]
