Basketball Federation of Slovenia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Basketball Federation of Slovenia (Košarkaska zveza Slovenije) is the governing body of basketball in Slovenia.

It was founded in 1948 as a member of the larger Yugoslav Basketball Federation (see also: Basketball in Yugoslavia). In 1992, KZS joined the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) on its own. Slovenia competes in the European region of FIBA.

It organizes the top-level men's league, the UPC Telemach League, as well as three other levels in the men's basketball league pyramid, and a women's league. KZS also runs the Slovenia national basketball team.
