Bashaw (2006 Population 796) is a town in central Alberta located at the junction of Highway 21 and Highway 53. Formerly one of the most recognizable sources of cheese production in Alberta, the Bashaw cheese plant has been closed since the spring of 2002.

Bashaw is currently on a short list for a new Canadian reality show called "A Week Without Women" where the women are sent on a vacation for a week, leaving the men to fend for themselves. Lillooet, B.C., Hardisty, Alberta are the other towns in the running to host this CBC show.
