Wikipedia:Barnstars
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is the custom to reward Wikipedia contributors for hard work and due diligence by awarding them barnstars. To give the award to someone, just place the image on their talk page, and say why you've given it. Don't hesitate: be bold!
The concept of the barnstar as a Wiki award was created by SunirShah on MeatballWiki, although the actual graphic symbol adopted for this purpose isn't a barnstar at all, it depicts a kind of washer used in conjunction with a tie rod. Barnstars were introduced to Wikipedia in February 2004. Since then, the concept has become ingrained into the Wikipedia culture. These awards are part of the Kindness Campaign and are meant to promote civility and WikiLove.
The following are the barnstars and awards currently in use. Each of these awards has been vetted and accepted on the proposal page. If you have any ideas regarding additions to, changes to, or removals from the barnstars on this list, feel free to list it on Wikipedia:Barnstar and award proposals! If you have questions, WikiProject Awards is a group of volunteers who help guide these pages.
