[edit] Country flag templates

Well, I would tend not to use these templates in the main body text of an article, as it can prove difficult to read and annoying to some users. However in tables and lists etc, then yes, I would probably use the templates. FireFoxesp 16:49, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Russian federal subjects

Hi, Bart! Just wanted to drop a quick thank-you note for your contributions to the articles on Russian federal subjects (infoboxes, flags, etc.) Would you be interested in joining the Russian federal subjects WikiProject? I used to work on it quite extensively, but now I simply do not have the time and keep looking for someone (or not necessarily "one") to take over. Anyway, thanks again for all your work!—Ëzhiki (erinaceus amurensis) 19:00, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Actually I only started adding there because I was working on the List of flags (Regional flags) and saw that many were lacking in wp. Since I don't even speak or can't read russian I won't be of much help I fear, but nevertheless I'll keep improving where I can (mainly improving the layout of the articles) !! Bart l 01:33, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
Ah, I was hoping for more :) Anyway, since the articles are pretty much being neglected at this time, any help you can render is going to be invaluable. Thanks again!—Ëzhiki (erinaceus amurensis) 02:43, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
On a similar note, could you be so kind as to add the three flags that are still missing? Thanks! ナイトスタリオン 11:56, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
I was not able to find them at that time, but I'll keep looking for them Bart l 18:56, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
Thanks! ナイトスタリオン 09:35, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Disambiguating abbreviations

You contributed to the TFD discussion for {{2LCdisambig}}. I am following this with further discussion at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages)#Abbreviations. Susvolans 18:46, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikification and Reorder

Hi, I was looking at some of your edits. It was hard to see what you had wikified, because the reordering made the "changes" display hard to read. Although it's not a rule, it would definitely keep things clearer if you could keep the reordering and wikification in separate edits. Thanks.

I also noticed that some of the pages you worked on had links on non-subject words. I don't know how many of those you added, and how many were already there. As it's frowned upon in the disambiguation guidelines, I'm removing this.

If you weren't the one who made those links, please accept my apologies; as I said, it was hard to tell.

  • I mainly do 2 things in this regard: put the abbreviated word in front of the sentence = wikification and 2nd sort them alphabeticly; not a bad idea to do it in two seperate steps anyway ! Apologies accepted, for I did not through in non-linked items, even removed some of them myself, I fully agree on your comment !! Only one remark: in my opinion it should not be bad to add extra links to items in the explanations and make the subject bold, see example below. Bart l 18:42, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] COK

Why is COK redirecting to Cook Islands? Is it a well know abreviation? --DuKot 22:15, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

ISO 3166, at least, yeah. ナイトスタリオン 22:46, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
yes, that's the reason, anyway if more acronyms or abreviations are applicable, it can always be changed into a TLAdisambig page. Bart l 18:32, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
changing to disambiguation article --DuKot 22:38, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] TON ?

hello, i was wondering why the all caps, "TON" redirects to "Tonga?" I was unable to find a reference to TON in the article. Naufana : talk

ISO 3166-1 alpha-3... What other meanings of TON do you know of? If there are any, we will naturally have a dab page there. —Nightstallion (?) 21:00, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Untagged image

An image you uploaded, Image:Zuid-Holland coat.gif, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 13:21, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
