[edit] Birthdate

Where does his birthdate come from? Are there any hints towards this in the books? - Sebastian

The etymology of "Crouch" is the old English for the word "cross." It is a Place name, and refers to a person living either beside a crossroads or a roadside Cross.- Brian

[edit] Suggestion

I would suggest this article be renamed Barty Crouch Sr. so as not to be confused with Barty Crouch Jr.

[edit] Crouch descended from the Blacks?

Where does the statement that Crouch is a descended of Charis Black come from I'vw newver seen this noted in the books or is on JK Rowling's website? Penrithguy 21:36, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Ive just seen the article on here "Black family tree" and have found out where the information comes from Penrithguy

[edit] Updates

I've modified the content slightly as who was under the imperius/who escaped from where and when/who is polyjuiced into who's appearance was slightly off and I found it hard to follow. Hopefully my changes make the plot easier to follow.

[edit] Events in the Forbidden Forest

I've edited the paragraph to eliminate confusion about who Harry and Viktor met and exactly how Crouch was killed. 68.40.190.172 21:10, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sr vs. Sr.

Why no period after Sr? BTW the movie lists him as Barty Crouch (no Sr) but his son as Barty Crouch Junior (no abbreviation)68.4.225.187 07:25, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

In Britain, we don't. See Barty Jr, or the project page. Michaelsanders 12:14, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "the elder"

why not put "senior" instead of "the elder" in the introduction? Everyoneandeveryone 15:20, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps; however, the main point is that neither is part of his official name, and thus don't need to be in bold. Michael Sanders 15:55, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
