I think he sold the art collection to Spain but managed to give everyone the impression that he had given it. His name is on it, but he doesn't own it anymore, I think. Ortolan88
A significant amount of the art in the Thyssen-Bornemisza is stolen Jewish art from WWII. Baron Thyssen-Bornemisza was linked to the Nazis.
