Are Kourkounis and Igler part of BP now? I just thought they were collaborators on the side projects. Plechazunga 08:55, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] band name
i'll formulate it to an encyclopaedia-like stanza, including or rather citing these quotes (among others, after i finished reading the long article (link 2)), maybe tomorrow (if i remember):
"What does the name 'Bardo Pond' mean? - 'Bardo' comes from the Tibetan Book of the Dead, and 'pond' just sounded cool in conjunction with the other word. Bardo is the point where a soul arrives upon its corporal body as it is dying. During the course of the Bardo there is a determination as to where the soul will then proceed to, based upon the soul’s prior life experiences. This moment and place was determined to be a good place for fishing, hence 'pond' was added to the name." source
" 'The name in my mind is a place. A place in-between, an island in space where there is a pond. There is grass and moss around the pond, and in the background it is dark, only shadows of trees visible. We are sitting around the pond and occasionally huge beautiful fish come up from the darkness of the water to the surface then dive down again into the bottomless black hole of liquid. We hang out watching, and sometimes we fish, and somehow we get songs and music out of this activity. OK, can I have another drink now?'. So responds Clint Takeda, bassist extraordinaire for Philadelphia, PA drone-rock improvisers Bardo Pond, when I ask him about the origins of their mystical name." source
