Bartlett High School, or BHS, is a public four-year high school located in Bartlett, Illinois, a north-west suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Elgin Area School District U46, which also includes Elgin High School, Larkin High School, South Elgin High School, and Streamwood High School.

History

Bartlett High School opened its doors in August 1997 as the fourth high school in Elgin Area School District U46.

Academics

In 2005, Bartlett had an average composite ACT score of 20.6, and graduated 95.6% of its senior class. The average class size is 24.7. Bartlett High is also home to the Academy of Science, Engineering, and High Technology, an advanced curriculum that students must apply to. Bartlett has not made Adequate Yearly Progress on the Prairie State Achievements Examination, a state test part of the No Child Left Behind Act.[1]

Demographics

As of 2005, the student body was 74.8% White, 4.1% Black, 10.2% Hispanic, and 10.9% Asian. 11% of the student body were listed as low income. The average teacher salary is $57,945, and the average years of teacher experience is 13.5.[2]

Athletics

Bartlett competes in the Upstate Eight Conference. Its mascot is the Hawk.
