Bartholomew is a fictional character from Highlander: The Series, portrayed by Jack Ellis. He is an Immortal.

Bartholomew was born in 732 in Wessex, England. He grew up in a religious background, but was the type of person who would line his own pockets over people's misfortunes. He was the king's tax collector, in 777. Based on the date the King was Cynewulf of Wessex. Bartholomew embezzeled the taxes from the king and was hanged for it. He became Immortal and later on met his teacher, Bertric. Bartholomew learned about Immortality.
Years later, he made himself rich by means of heavy taxation while King's minister and tax collector. In Ireland, a village that was just getting by, he was having the villagers pay an excessive tithe. A villager named Katherine, who also is an Immortal, claims that Bartholomew is taxing the villagers very high to line his pockets. Bartholomew claims it is God's will. Bartholomew tells the villagers thet if they fight with him in the Crusades, they will have their sins cleaned by God. later on, Katherine confronts Bartholomew and she challenges him, but is shot in the back by on of the guards. Bartholomew decides to punish the village by killing everyone in it and burning it to the ground. Katherine revives and goes to her village to find it burned and everyone dead, this is why she will hunt Bartholomew for a long time.
Bartholomew is still making money off the misfortunes of people through wars and death. In 1998, he is now CEO of a charity organization called "Mission for Children" in Paris, France, it is a front organization to line his own pockets. Katherine tracks him down in Paris. Bartholomew gets a visit from Katherine at his building. In the parking structure, Bartholomew meets Katherine and they are about to got at it, but he has 2 of his goons standing there with guns. Katherine is saved by her husband, Nick Sutherland, who tracked her down. Bartholomew is being investgated by the police for stealing money from his organization. Later on, at his home, Bartholomew goes to a safe where he has 30 million dollars in diamonds. He senses the presence of another Immortal, it is Katherine, they both face off with their sword, she defeats Bartholomew and takes his head and receives his Quickening.
