[edit] Summary

The player takes control of Bart Simpson as he evades camp counselors, bullies, and other forest obstacles in various events throughout a day at camp. At the end of the day Bart realizes that it is too dangerous to stay there, and he makes a daring night-time escape over Mount Deadly and through a dark forest.

[edit] Story

Bart and Lisa Simpson thought it would be fun to spend the summer at camp. Unfortunately they didn't count on being sent to the dilapidated and dangerous Camp Deadly; a camp run by a distant relative of Mr. Burns known as Ironfist Burns. His evil camp events and legions of cronies will make sure that the children stay in line and have as little fun as possible.

The game's plot is similar to that of the episode "Kamp Krusty". This is most likely coincidental, as the episode didn't air until September 1992.

[edit] Weapons and Items

  • Boomerangs
    • Boomerangs are scattered throughout the forests and mountains around the camp. They serve as the primary weapon and must be used sparingly in order to defeat the tough bully bosses at the end of each stage.
  • Food
    • When Bart enters the cafeteria he must use tofu burgers, broccoli, crabapples, fish smelts, liver pizza, and prune ice cream as weapons to fight off the crowds.
  • Donuts
    • Donuts may be fatty and pumped with sugar, but in this game they are Bart's only means of regaining health.
  • Krusty icons
    • Krusty icons are the rarest items in the game and each one will give Bart one extra life. It is worth the risk to grab one of these.
  • Outfits
    • The camp may be low on equipment, but sometimes certain useful outfits will appear. The bee outfit guards against bees, the football gear is good for plowing through enemies, and the radiation suit provides extra defense when prowling through the sewers.

[edit] Game areas

  • Flag capture
    • Both the Morning Activity and Afternoon Activity are frenzied games of flag capture in a dense forest. Boomerangs are good for fighting normal enemies but they should be saved for Blindside Bill, Rebound Rodney, and Slipshod Sammy, the camp bullies. They block front attacks so only hits to the back of the head will work. Game tip: the bulletin board says not to release Madman Mort, but it's okay to do so. He will help during the fight with Nelson.
  • Food breaks
    • The lunch and dinner breaks are simply a run through a cafeteria filled with food-tossing counselors. Use your food weapons freely. Game tip: drop your food in the dumpsters when passing by a serving area or they'll be taken away by the cafeteria worker.
  • Mount Deadly
    • Bart's daring escape takes place up this mountain in the middle of the night. Common mountain creatures such as eagles will pester Bart as he treks up the vines and through caves, but some stranger enemies such as skeletons are tougher to beat.
  • Escape to the power station
    • The game's final stage takes place in a forest similar to the early stages, but it is now the middle of the night. Larger enemies such as bears will make the forest section harder than before, then a small run through a sewer will lead to the big finish against Ironfist Burns himself.
