Barry Martin Smith (born 19 February 1974 in Paisley) is a Scottish footballer who currently plays in defence for Valur in the Icelandic Landsbankadeild.
Smith began his career with Scottish Premier League side Celtic but joined fellow Scottish side Dundee, where he made his name. After playing with the Dens Park side for ten-and-a-half seasons, Smith reached his testimonial year. There was various golf outings and dinners as per custom. However, the club failed to give him the customary testimonial match for ten years of service to one club. Smith then transferred to Icelandic outfit Valur who finished second in 2006. During his career as part of the Dundee squad he played in the right back, centre back, and defense midfield roles.
Smith joined Partick Thistle on loan in January 2007.
