Barry R. Schaller

The Honorable Barry Schaller has been a judge of the Connecticut Appellate Court since 1992. Before that, he was a trial court judge in Connecticut for 18 years. He is a visiting lecturer in public policy at Trinity College where he teaches Bioethics, Public Health Law and Ethics and health policy. He serves on the clinical adjunct faculty of the Yale Law School and is visiting lecturer at Wesleyan University, where he teaches Bioethics and Public Health law, ethics and policy. As a bioethicist and consultant on health and ethics policy, he serves on the Middlesex Hospital Bioethics committee and the St. Francis Hospital IRB. Barry R. Schaller has lectured and written extensively in the field of law, jurisprudence, bioethics, literature, and public policy. His first book, A Vision of American Law, was widely reviewed and received the Quinnipiac Law School award for excellence. In addition to A Legal Prescription for Bioethical Ills, another book is in process, Bioethics on Trial.
