Barry Opdam (born 27 February 1976 in Leiden) is a Dutch professional footballer, who began his career at FC Lisse. He later moved to AZ Alkmaar at the start of the 1996-97 season, where he still plays.
On 4 June 2005, Opdam made his debut for the Dutch national team in a 2-0 win against Romania. Later that year, he scored an important goal against the Czech Republic. However, he narrowly missed out on selection for the Holland squad for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. He has managed one goal in seven caps, as of December 2005.
As a central defender, Opdam does not score many goals. However, he produced one of the great moments in AZ European history when he headed home from a Julian Jenner free kick with seven minutes to go to send AZ into the last 16 of the UEFA Cup. They had drawn 3-3 in Istanbul and were 2-0 down at half time.
