Barry Eisler
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Barry Eisler, born 1964 in New Jersey (USA), is the author of a popular, award-winning series of thrillers starring the anti-hero John Rain, a half-Japanese, half-American freelance assassin. Eisler worked for three years for the CIA's Directorate of Operations.
Eislers works stand out from the many other thriller/mystery novels in that they portray a frighteningly realistic view of murder, never pulling punches in detail. Through indepth research and referencing, Eisler arms Rain with a skillset entirely based in reality. From his room clearing tactics, to his counter surveillance techniques, all of Rains systems are real. Of course, the occassional mistake does occur, and corrections can always be found on Eislers website.
