Barry Cullen was born June 16, 1935 in Ottawa, Ontario.

Barry Cullen played along side brother Brian Cullen, and his younger brother Raymond followed in their footsteps, going to play in the NHL as well. Barry played in the NHL for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Detroit Red Wings.

Barry raised six children who all loved their father, and the game of hockey. Barry's eldest son, Terry went to play for the Michigan Wolverines, where he was hit from behind and broke his neck. Barry's forth child, John Cullen, went on to play for Boston University, and then to the NHL where he played with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Hartford Whalers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Cullen currently lives in Guelph, Ontario where he owns a car dealership.
