Barry Corr (born 2 April 1985, County Wicklow), also known as Big Bad Bazza Corr , is an Irish footballer currently playing for Sheffield Wednesday. A former Leeds trainee, Corr failed to score in eighteen appearances (half of them as a substitute) in the 2005-06 season before his season was ended prematurely by a back injury.
He spent a brief spell on loan at Bristol City 2006/07 season. He made two full appearances and scored his first senior goal before his spell was cut short.
On the 19th of March it was made official that Barry Corr would be united with old boss Paul Sturrock in a loan deal till the end of the season at Swindon Town in a bid to help the League Two club clinch promotion.[1] Corr marked his arrival at Swindon, continuing his fine reserve team record. By scoring in the club's 3-0 victory over former club Bristol City. In a reserve game on Tuesday the 20th of March 2007. [2] Barry then continued to repay the faith put into him by Paul Sturrock. By scoring in the 34th minute on his first team debut in an important six pointer against Lincoln City at Sincil Bank. He also created a goal that day, for fellow former owl Lee Peacock. Barry has been described as a player similar to Peter Crouch.[3]
