Barry Cooper (cricketer)

Barry George Cooper (b. 30 November 1958) in Whangarei. He was a New Zealand cricketer who played 62 first-class matches for the Northern Districts Knights in the 1980's and in the 1990's and he played for Northland in the Hawke Cup.

A right handed batsman who scored 2982 runs at 28.13 the best of his four centuries, an unbeaten 116, came against the England tourists in 1988. Graham Hick also played for Northern Districts against England in this match. He took 26 wickets with his off breaks, with his only five wicket haul, 5 for 40, coming against Otago.

He scored 2009 runs in 80 list A one day matches with one century, 102 against Otago, for an average of 27.51. He took 34 one day wickets at 30.23 with a best of 3 for 12.

He was born on November 30, 1958 in Whangarei, Northland. He also appeared for North Island (1981/82), Derbyshire Second XI (1980-1981), Derbyshire Under-25s (1981), Minor Associations (1982/83), Auckland and Northern Districts (1985/86) and Sir R Brierley's XI (1993/94).
