[edit] Biography
Barry Cofield was born in Cleveland. He was too strong in mind and heart to be influenced by local street gangs, which were ever present, so instead, turned to a life on introspection, studying the teachings of Gandhi thoroughly at age nine. This lonesome lifestyle, and the external ridicule it brought with it, began to weigh heavy against his once pure heart. By the age of 11 the burden had grown too heavy and Barry began to lash out at society, his strong heart and mind beaten and defeated. He would not go out for recess anymore, he never shared his grade school lunches, not even with his best friend Antonio Flannigan, who was too poor to afford food of any kind, and worst of all, Barry had stopped performing his duties as student council vice president. Barry’s mother decided that she’d had enough, and moved to Cleveland Heights, luxurious suburb of Cleveland, in hopes of restoring her son’s strong heart and mind. Little did she know that the streets of Cleveland Heights had several twists and turns as well. Barry began to play video games every day with a boy named Ryan Gaswell, who had mastered the art of competitive gaming for several years. Under Ryan’s tutelage Barry became the greatest gamer in all of the Heights. However, he had stopped studying Gandhi and refused to even vote in middle school student council elections, much to the chagrin of his mother. His mother worried that video games would control his life, and that apathy would ruin his strong mind and heart forever. However, in one of Cleveland Height’s famous gamer tournaments Barry was defeated, with a PERFECT, in Mortal Combat II, by none other than Antonio Flannigan. Antonio had never forgiven Barry for not feeding him in elementary school, and mercilessly taunted Barry after defeating him. Barry had hit an all time low, with no friends and no outlet for his aggression his mother feared the worst. However, that year in middle school Barry came under the tutelage of the wisest all Cleveland Heights youth, Max Briggs. Max taught him how to play football, basketball, baseball, and write exquisite prose. Using athletics to vent his aggression and writing exquisite prose to stimulate his mind, Barry’s heart and mind became strong once again. Once in high school Barry voted in every single student council election, as well voting for prom king and queen, which made his mother very proud. Once Barry’s mind and heart were strong enough Max entered Barry into the Hoop It Up basketball tournament at Randal Park Mall. In the final game, Barry Cofield dunked the ball over Antonio Flannigan to win the tournament for his team, the BH’s. After the victory Barry did not gloat, but rather rekindled his friendship with Antonio. Barry’s mind and heart had never been stronger and he owed it all to Max.
With Barry’s new confidence, physical skills, and wisdom he was accepted and got a football scholarship to Northwestern University, where he played for four years. He was then drafted into the NFL by the New York Giants, most NFL players agree that Barry has the strongest mind and heart in all of the NFL. He now lives in New Jersey, with his friend Antonio Flannigan just down the street.
