A barrow blade is a mythical sword found in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Barrow-Blades were found in the Barrow Downs, ancient burial grounds close to the home of Tom Bombadil. They were given to Frodo and his friends during their visit to Tom Bombadil. While Frodo gains Sting later on, Merry, Pippin, and Sam use them throughout the journey. Like many enchanted blades found in Middle-Earth, these swords will glow. With the Barrow Blades, they glow a ruddy light.
