Baron Pierrepont
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The title of Baron Pierrepont was created four times.
On 29 June 1627, it was created in the Peerage of England for Robert Pierrepont, who was created Earl of Kingston-upon-Hull in 1628. This creation became extinct together with the earldom in 1773.
On 29 March 1702, it was created in the Peerage of Ireland, and on 19 October 1714, in the Peerage of Great Britain for Gervase Pierrepont. On his death on 22 May 1715, the baronies became extinct.
On 23 July 1796, it was created as subsidiary title of the viscountcy Newark, who was later created Earl Manvers. All three titles became extinct in 1955 on the death of the sixth earl.
