Barnyard Commandos

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Barnyard Commandos was a collection of action figures produced by Playmates in 1989. A thirteen episode animated series was based off the figures the follow year. Produced by Fred Wolf, it featured the vocal talents of S. Scott Bullock, Thom Bray, Pat Fraley, Paul Hreppel, John Mariano, Bob Ridgeley, Lennie Weinrib, and Danny Wells.

The premise consisted of paramilitary confrontations between two groups of mutated farm animals, the RAMS and the PORKS, which had consumed radioactive materials left over from an abandoned military experiment.

The RAM squad consisted of Sergeant Woolly Pullover, Commodore Fleece Cardigan, Major Legger Mutton, and Pilot Fluff Pendleton. The PORK squad consisted of General Hamfat Lardo, Private Side O'Bacon, Sergeant Shoat N. Sweet, and Captain Tusker Chitlins.

The Playmates figures were nonposeable and included attachable weapon accessories and vehicles. Burger King also produced a series of figures.
